2012 is the United Nations International Year of Co-operatives (IYC) and aims to highlight the contribution of co-ops to socio-economic development across a wide range of self-help business activities. The agricultural co-operation sector is one of the most important globally, in both developed and developing economies.
In order to promote and celebrate IYC, SOAS has launched their 'Farmer Co-ops in Scotland' pack. The pack contains examples of Scotland’s dynamic farmers’ co-ops that prove their value to members year after year. Each co-op describes the services and scale that enable their farmer members to achieve extra profit through co-operation. Angus Cereals were delighted to be asked to be featured in the pack.
